At Spicy Reads, we believe in giving you complete control over your personal data. We've created straightforward options for you to delete your account and associated data whenever you choose to do so.
Self-Service Account Deletion
Delete Through Your Dashboard
The fastest way to delete your account and all associated data is through your profile settings:
- Log in to your Spicy Reads account
- Navigate to your Dashboard
- Select the "Profile" tab
- Scroll to the bottom to find the "Danger Zone" section
- Click on "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Please Note
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including profile information, reading history, reviews, and forum contributions will be permanently erased.
Request Data Deletion via Email

If you prefer or are unable to use the self-service option, you can request account deletion by emailing:
Please include the following information in your email:
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Your registered email address
- Your username (if you remember it)
- Any additional verification information we might request
What Happens When Your Data Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove all your personal information from our systems:
- Your profile information is permanently erased from our database
- Your reading history and preferences are completely removed
- Your posts, comments, and reviews are either anonymized or deleted
- Your email and authentication details are purged from our systems
- Any backed-up data will be removed during our regular backup cycle
After deletion, your data cannot be recovered, even by our technical team. This is a secure, irreversible process designed to protect your privacy.
Deletion Timeline
How Long Will It Take?
Self-service deletions and email requests are typically processed within 1-3 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once your deletion request has been completed.
While the visible removal of your account happens immediately upon confirmation, the complete purging of all data from our backup systems may take up to 30 days to complete. However, during this time, your data is not accessible through our platform.
